The first few years of your child’s life tend to feel downright miraculous. Your little one is on a journey where they are constantly exploring the world around them to find out how things work. Your days are filled with tiny adventures, as well as about a hundred questions built around the word “why.” If you are looking for the very best way to help them learn, you need a go-to spot where you can let them go wild! As a Fort Lauderdale family photographer, I love working with parents to help them find the spots I know they’ll love revisiting again and again. If you are looking for the best Fort Lauderdale Children’s Museums, here are two to check out!
Engage With Your Family At These Exciting Fort Lauderdale Children’s Museums

Museum of Discovery and Science
401 SW 2nd St, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312
Museum of Discovery and Science (or MODS, for short) is a spot every member of the family will adore! This center has become a community favorite for their IMAX theater, where you can see blockbuster films on the largest movie screen in all of South Florida. They regularly bring out classic films like Back to the Future while also showing the movies currently generating the most buzz.
The actual museum portion combines hands-on exhibits with the very latest in technology to activate your child’s brain in a brand new way. When you stop in, your child can take a step back in time and see a holographic dinosaur, or they can take a leap into the future and learn about STEM. You can spend some time watching a live science demonstration before heading to the first floor for Animal Encounters with actual animals!

Young At Art Museum
8000 W Broward Blvd Ste 1208, Plantation, Florida 33388
If you are raising the next Miniature Monet, I think Young At Art is about to be your new favorite spot. This museum has been around since 1987 as a way to give kids a “museum without walls.” Their mission is to give your child a space where they can dive headfirst into the creative process while gaining a brand new understanding of the world around them. The museum is located inside the Broward Mall and frequently hosts events that go well beyond their storefront.
With this museum, your family can stop in and check out interactive exhibitions rooted in the arts. If your child wants to try their hand at creating something new, the museum offers both classes and camps. Frequent visitors can check out family memberships with teacher and military discounts available.
