When you have a younger child, you quickly learn the importance of a go-to spot whenever you need to shake up your routine. Your child needs a way to break out of the ordinary so they can learn and discover in a brand new way. Plus, you need a way to burn out some of their seemingly endless energy! As a Miami motherhood photographer, I get the chance to connect with countless parents across the city who have found their favorite family spots. If you could use some help finding one, let me tell you all about why I adore the Miami Children’s Museum!
About the Miami Children’s Museum
980 MacArthur Causeway, Miami, Florida 33132
Miami Children’s Museum is an inclusive space that invites every child to come in and learn something new. Their goal is to teach the kids the importance of art, science, and literacy. When your child is here, they will get the chance to work on school readiness without even realizing it! The building itself is massive, taking up over 56,500 square feet across Watson Island. It is a colorful spot that will get your child excited from the second you pull up to the building.
Fun And Exciting Exhibits
Miami Children’s Museum has a fabulous collection of permanent and traveling exhibits. These exhibits were created to work with the MDCPS curriculum to boost your child’s education. They will have a safe space where they can satisfy their natural curiosity and discover a lifelong love of learning. Their exhibits cover a range of topics. Dinosaur lovers can check out lifelike displays, artists can dip their toes into a world of color, animal fans can pretend to be vets at Pet Central, and musicians can create brand-new songs in the Music Makers Studio. They have a Construction Zone, a pretend bank and grocery store, and a fairytale castle. There is also a multi-sensory room as well as outdoor exhibits where your child can spend the afternoon climbing around.
Their traveling exhibits change by the season, but regardless of when you stop in, your child is destined to have a great time. Once a year, the Miami Children’s Museum brings in a Winter Wonderland with a sock skating rink. You can also find temporary exhibits based on cartoon characters and different animals.
