I don’t think it’s exactly a secret that Florida summers have the tendency to get pretty darn hot. And while we might have some of the best beaches around, there are some days when you don’t want to commit to that level of adventure. That’s when a splash pad is going to become your best friend. These parks give your child a way to stay cool while you can just catch your breath and enjoy the sun. As a Fort Lauderdale family photographer, I adore working with parents to help them create memories. If your family needs to cool off at splash pads in Fort Lauderdale, here are the three I always recommend!
Treat The Little Ones To Some Safe Water Fun At These Splash Pads In Fort Lauderdale
Osswald Park in Fort Lauderdale
2220 NW 21st Ave, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33311
Osswald Park in Fort Lauderdale is one of those places where you can easily spend an entire day. They have a long list of amenities, including a driving range, a racquetball court, walking trails, and a rec center. Their splash pad is fairly large, with a concrete covering that doesn’t require shoes. Your child can run beneath fountains or crawl through their hoops. Meanwhile, you will have a nearby covered space where you can sit back and watch. They also feature a playground with a sail covering the equipment to ensure your child can slide no matter how high the temp gets!
Croissant Park
245 W. Park Drive, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33315
Croissant Park is a seriously massive park located on over 16 acres. This area gives your child quite a few ways to stay cool on the hottest days. They offer a lap pool with diving boards, basketball hoops, and a cabana. Here, you can check out private and group lessons. Their splash pad tends to be one of the favorites in town! This area features a playground in a shallow pool that contains about a foot of water. Your child can dance beneath the spigots or splash down the slide. There are benches surrounding the water where you can sit beneath the shade. Just note this is a splash pad that requires a bit more supervision than most!
Waters Edge Park
7508 NW 61st St, Tamarac, Florida 33321
Waters Edge Park might just give you one of the largest splash pads in the area, offering a huge shallow pool where your child can run around and make some friends! There are buckets that drop water, fountains that splash up from the base, and water flowing on the ground. It’s the best way to stay cool! The water area is completely fenced off with several sails that give you the perfect spot to stand. Nearby, you can also find a covered playground ideal for drying off!
