It’s not exactly a secret that Florida can get pretty darn hot. That year-round sunny climate is one of the biggest things that has made us a tourist destination for people all across the globe. Some days, however, you need to find ways to beat the heat without making the trek to the beach. This is when it’s time to find a nearby waterpark. As a Fort Lauderdale family photographer, I love working with families to help them find brand new ways to make some memories. Here are the waterparks near Fort Lauderdale I always recommend!
Beat The Heat With Some Thrilling Fun At These Waterparks Near Fort Lauderdale
Tidal Cove
19999 West Country Club Drive, Aventura, Florida 33180
Tidal Cove is an award-winning waterpark perfect for your next family day near Fort Lauderdale. They have 25 cabanas available for reservation where you can relax beneath the sun. Their Kids’ Cove is a favorite amongst children of all ages, and it has shallow water and slides to keep them entertained all day long. They also have a lazy river and raft rides.
Paradise Cove
900 N. Flamingo Road, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33028
If you have older Fort Lauderdale kids, I think you are really going to love Paradise Cove Waterpark! With sky-high waterslides, your child can spend all day racing around while staying cool. Additionally, there is a kids’ area complete with a clubhouse ideal for kids ages 3-10. You can end the day with a family float down the lazy river.
Splash Adventure
401 S. Powerline Rd, Deerfield Beach, Florida 33442
If you are looking for a spot that’s a little more low-key, I think you will love Splash Adventure Waterpark! This area ditches all the gravity-defying attractions in favor of a clubhouse with smaller slides and water curtains. At the deepest, the water only rises 12 inches. It’s the ideal spot for toddlers and preschoolers looking to stay cool!
T.Y. (Topeekeegee Yugnee) Park
3300 N. Park Road, Hollywood, Florida 33021
T.Y. Park (short for Topeekeegee Yugnee) is nestled in the midst of an RV campground, making it a favorite waterpark for both Fort Lauderdale residents and travelers. While the playground is a little bigger than Splash Adventure, it’s still much less overwhelming than some of the other local options. Older kids can race down three-story slides while younger kids can chill out in the splash pad.
Calypso Cove
6200 Royal Palm Boulevard, Margate, Florida 33063
Calypso Cove is an outdoor aquatic center with something for everyone. Their bright and colorful children’s area is a perfect spot for kids ages 3-12 to splash around for a few hours. Meanwhile, the lap pool is a favorite for people looking for a fun way to stay fit through every season. Additionally, there is an area with large waterslides ideal for all ages.
